OAXACA
MEXICO
Today,
Oaxaca Mexico has a population of more than three million
inhabitants. Located in the south region of Mexico, Oaxaca is on the
Pacific Ocean’s arm known as the Gulf of Tehuantepec.
As the capital city of Mexico, Oaxaca has topography
of four deep and tortuous valleys in the south.
Then to the north, you would find broad and open
semiarid valleys and plateaus.
Other than the north and west, the state is very,
tropical and temperate.
Agriculture
is the primary economy due to the massive, fertile valleys.
For instance, two of the leading crops are coffee and
sugarcane, followed by tobacco, cereal, and both tropical
and semitropical fruits.
Another economy in Oaxaca is livestock, as well as
mineral deposits, which is still unexploited. For industry activity, you see things such as oil refining,
pa per manufacturing, flour and sugar milling, and beverage
production.
Oaxaca
Mexico still has strong roots, which is why you see many
wonderful handicrafts.
For instance, quality hand-woven textiles, pottery,
and even leather goods are big exporters. Although this part of Mexico has a number of highways, we
still see inadequate communications.
Even so, we should marvel at how far the people of
Oaxaca have come, striving to become an even stronger
community.
When
visiting Oaxaca Mexico, you will find a number of wonderful
archaeological sites. Therefore, if you enjoy history, you might consider visiting
Monte Alban and Mitla.
The people living in these areas are primarily
indigenous. You will find the highlands dominated by Mixtecs while the
Zapotecs reside in other regions.
While
much of Oaxaca Mexico focuses on the history of the Indians,
you will also find beautiful beach resorts now being
constructed to bridge the gap between the past and the
future. In this
case, you could visit Huatulco Bays along the southern coast
and enjoy beautiful sandy beaches and wonderful
accommodations. We
expect to see a continuing growth of tourism, making this an
exciting place to visit and explore.
